Honda FN2 / FD2 Hondata tuning (Flashpro, Turbo or Supercharged)

£549.00

Custom dyno tuning for the Honda Civic FN2 and FD2.   Vehicle’s ECU MUST be equiped with either a Hondata Flashpro. (The Flashpro must either be NEW OR ALREADY REGISTERED TO YOUR CAR!)

*** IMPORTANT: The UK FN2 ECU does not support boost control, so, if you are planning to run more than a simple low boost setup (IE you are shooting for 400hp+) then you NEED some type of external boost controller with RPM correction.    Eboost 2 or Apexi AVC-R work well, and must be connected to an RPM source so that we can program boost on a per-RPM basis.

Before purchasing you are encouraged to first make contact to check that we have dates available that suit you.

Custom dyno tuning for the Honda Civic FN2 and FD2.   Vehicle’s ECU MUST be equiped with either a Hondata Flashpro. (The Flashpro must either be NEW OR ALREADY REGISTERED TO YOUR CAR!)

This option is aimed at those guys with either stock, or built Honda K20 engines which have had either a Supercharger or Turbo conversion performed.

With this option we’ll provide the best custom tune we can to work with your individual list of modifications. For example, it might be a stock engine with low-boost turbo kit (Typically up to 430hp with the RIGHT parts) or it could be a built, forged engine making 600+hp.  If you’re familiar with our existing work you’ll know that we’re no strangers to the Honda K series engines, having first started tuning them in racing and endurance applications. These days we tune a lot of super charged and turbo converted K series engines for trade and individual customers too.

Our tuning work is custom, meaning every car spends time on our rolling road while we adjust your ECU’s map until the result is both safe and optimal.

We spend a good chunk of time properly calibrating the part throttle aspect of your map, too. Something which is sometimes over looked by other tuners in a hurry to get your car on and off the dyno.   You can expect your car to drive as smoothly as possible once we’re done.  No hick-ups at light throttle, delayed throttle reactions and over-rich or over-lean conditions.

Aside from the performance increase the remap will include some additional benefits including:

– Improved warm-up behaviour.
– Fault code removal for such things as decat and light weight / single mass flywheels.
– Re-calibration for larger injectors, if necessary, with corrected trip computer data.
– Optional overrun crackles.

Q: How is this re-map performed ?
A:
We start by having a chat about your car, it’s engine and what you plan to use it for.   We’ll ask you about the modifications you’ve performed, the engine specification (should it not remain stock) and other details about your fuel system including injector size.

After that we’ll load the car on the dyno and load a base file of ours to your ECU to begin calibrating.   After a couple of hours you will have seen us tune:  idle, part throttle fuelling, spark, VVTi, full throttle and VTEC cross (RPM).   We have a very specific order of business with a K series engine to make sure that we end up with the most optimal fuelling, spark, VVTi operation, VTEC RPM and boost control.

You’ll need to book a slot with us so we can arrange to get your car on to our rolling road. Along with weekday slots we’ll often have weekend slots available too – please just ask.

Q: What parameters are you able to adjust ?
A:

Just about everything. When re-mapping your ECU to accommodate intake modifications, exhaust alterations and so on. We’ll regularly need to alter several aspects of the ECU’s behaviour including fuelling, lambda control, ignition timing, VTEC cross and VVTI among others.

Q: How long does it take ?
A:

On average it’ll take 2.5 hrs on the rolling road.

Q: What are the common modifications you’ll tune for with this custom tune ?
A:

We’re happy to incorporate induction modifications, exhaust upgrades (with or without a catalytic converter), manifold swaps, larger injectors, forged engines and more, boost control and more.

Q: Will the ECU loose it’s tune or alter over time ?
A:
No, do not worry.

Q: What if my ECU has been locked by a 3rd party ? Can you still work with it ?
A:

Yes, sure. We won’t be able to recover the map you have saved on their presently but we can certainly reset it and start again.   We don’t like to work with other people’s calibrations anyhow, so starting with a map of our own will usually be preferable anyway.

Q: If I’ve had my ECU tuned by you before and I make alterations or upgrades, what will the cost of map adjustment be ?

A:
Updates and alterations made to any map we have performed previously for you is charged at the normal dyno hourly rate. This means that simple alterations do not cost as much as substantial ones. An upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 for example might only take an hour hence a cost of £150. Upgrading a map to work with larger injectors and/or larger changes like manifold swaps may take an hour longer.

Q: Will my trip computer / MPG work correctly with larger injectors installed ?

A: Yes. Injector scaling is calibrated and so regardless of injector size and fuel system type we will correct this in the course of your remap.

If you have any questions we’ll be happy to answer them – just drop us a line. Getting in contact to discuss your requirements is recommended.
